Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the process of injecting a medication called Asclera® into spider and reticular veins to help relieve minor symptoms of venous insufficiency as well as improve the cosmetic appearance of the treatment area. It is most commonly used for treatment of spider and reticular veins of legs. Depending on the number of veins requiring treatment, sclerotherapy can take more than one session to get the desired outcome. Prior to treatment, we will do a consultation to ensure you are a good candidate for treatment and don’t require referral for a deeper problem to a vascular surgeon. Post procedure, we ask that you wear approved compression stockings for 3-5 days, and expect 7-14 days of bruising post treatment.
